Marie Perkins

Marie is a fourth year graduate student in the Chemistry Department here at Duke. She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She is an alumnus of the University of the Virgin Islands, where she obtained an A.S in Physics and a B.S. in Chemistry. In the Derbyshire Lab, Marie synthesizes compounds in the hopes of identifying the biological targets of malaria parasites.
